Average Order Value (AOV) is the average amount a customer spends per order in your store. It is calculated as total revenue divided by the number of orders in a period. Raising AOV is often cheaper than acquiring new customers, through bundles, free-shipping thresholds, cross-selling and upselling.
AOV should be read together with conversion rate and margin: a higher AOV that lowers conversion or profitability does not help.
