Automated email flows connected to your WooCommerce store

I design and build the flows that send the right message the moment a customer acts: when they sign up, leave a basket, receive their order or stop buying.

In short

Email automation means sequences of messages triggered by store events such as a sign-up, an abandoned basket or a completed order. I set these flows up for WooCommerce stores, making sure the events reach your email platform correctly. Once live, they run every day without manual effort.

Why so many flows underdeliver

  • Events that never arrive

The integration plugin doesn’t send the checkout-started event, or sends orders without line items. The flow exists but never fires, or fires with the wrong data.

  • Generic template flows

The abandoned basket flow was switched on with the platform’s default copy, no product image, no brand voice and no condition to exclude people who already bought.

  • Nobody reviews what’s live

Flows were built ages ago, with expired discount codes and discontinued products, and nobody knows exactly what customers are receiving.

How I build flows

I start by validating the integration between WooCommerce and your email platform: which events arrive, with which properties and how quickly. Only then do I build the flows, with conditional splits based on purchase history and clear exit rules.

  • Checks on viewed product, started checkout and placed order events
  • Exit conditions for anyone who buys mid-flow
  • Separate paths for first-time and returning customers
  • Regular review of codes, products and links across every live flow

Flows I build

  • Welcome

A sequence for new subscribers that introduces the brand, explains what sets the store apart and leads towards the first order.

  • Abandoned basket and checkout

Reminders showing the items left behind, answers to common delivery and returns questions, and automatic exit for anyone who completes the purchase.

  • Browse abandonment

A message for visitors who viewed products without adding them to the basket, with alternatives from the same category.

  • Post-purchase

Thanks, product usage tips, a review request and complementary suggestions, each timed around delivery.

  • Replenishment

For consumable products, a reminder timed from the typical interval between repeat purchases of the same item.

  • Win-back and sunset

A sequence for customers who have stopped buying and, at the end, removal of contacts who never respond, to protect deliverability.

How I implement

  1. Integration audit

I check the plugin or connection between WooCommerce and your email platform and fix missing or malformed events.

  2. Flow design

I define triggers, delays, splits and exit conditions for each flow and share the map with you before building anything.

  3. Build and test

I build the messages, test them with real test orders and baskets, and confirm every branch of the flow behaves correctly.

  4. Launch and review

I switch flows on in stages and review performance and content regularly to keep them current.

Where should I start if I have no flows at all?

Usually with welcome and abandoned basket flows, because they respond to high-intent moments. Post-purchase and win-back come next. The exact order depends on your store’s traffic and order volume.

Can I send abandoned basket emails to people who haven’t subscribed?

That needs to be assessed with your lawyer or data protection officer under the GDPR and the rules on electronic communications. As a rule, I set these flows up only for contacts with recorded marketing consent and document the basis for each send.

Should every flow include a discount?

No. Often, answering questions about delivery costs, lead times or returns is enough. When I do use discounts, I keep them for later messages in the flow or for specific segments, so customers don’t learn to abandon baskets on purpose.
