Email marketing on solid foundations for WooCommerce stores

I take care of the infrastructure the whole channel depends on: the platform, the WooCommerce connection, sign-up forms, consent and domain authentication. Then, if you like, I run the channel month by month.

In short

This service covers the technical and operational foundations of email marketing for a WooCommerce store: choosing or migrating a platform, integration, sign-up forms, consent and deliverability. It suits stores starting out with email or whose current setup has gaps. It can include ongoing monthly management of the channel.

Foundation gaps that cost you

  • Unauthenticated domain

Without SPF, DKIM and DMARC records set up properly, mailbox providers have less reason to trust your sends and the inbox gets harder to reach.

  • Contacts with no proof of consent

Customers imported from old orders, competition entries or forms without a consent box. There is no record of when or how anyone agreed to hear from you.

  • The wrong platform

Your current tool has become expensive for your list size, can’t read WooCommerce order data, or forces manual work for simple tasks.

How I set up the channel

I start with what customers never see but which decides whether email gets delivered: sending domain, authentication, consent and data quality. Then I configure forms and integrations and leave the channel ready for flows and campaigns.

  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC configured and verified on the sending domain
  • Forms with explicit consent and double opt-in
  • Customers, orders and products synced between WooCommerce and your platform
  • Easy unsubscribing, including the one-click option

What’s included

  • Platform selection or migration

A comparison of options against your needs and, where relevant, migration of contacts, consent records, segments and templates without losing history.

  • WooCommerce integration

Installing and configuring the official plugin or connector, then checking that customers, orders and catalogue sync correctly.

  • Domain authentication

SPF, DKIM and DMARC DNS records set up and aligned with your sending domain, plus initial reputation monitoring.

  • Forms and consent

Sign-up forms on site and at checkout, with clear consent wording, double opt-in and the source of every contact recorded.

  • List hygiene

Removal of invalid and duplicate addresses, suppression of long-term inactive contacts and rules to keep the list clean going forward.

  • Monthly management (optional)

Ongoing oversight of deliverability, list health, integrations and reporting, with a monthly check-in.

Phases

  1. Review

I look at your platform, list, forms, domain DNS and the WooCommerce integration.

  2. Fix the foundations

I configure authentication, consent and data sync, or prepare and run the migration to a new platform.

  3. Capture

I put the forms and sign-up points in place and confirm every new contact arrives with consent and source recorded.

  4. Operate

I leave documentation and access neatly organised for your team, or move into monthly management of the channel.

What are SPF, DKIM and DMARC?

They are DNS records on your domain that help mailbox providers confirm your emails are legitimate. SPF lists which servers may send on behalf of the domain, DKIM digitally signs each message, and DMARC tells providers what to do when those checks fail.

Can I email every customer who has ever bought from me?

Having bought from you does not automatically mean someone has consented to marketing. The lawful basis for each send should be assessed with your lawyer or data protection officer. In practice, I help separate contacts with documented consent from the rest and set up ways to ask for it.

Will migrating platforms lose data?

With proper preparation, it shouldn’t. I export contacts with their consent status, date and source, rebuild segments and flows, and run both platforms side by side during the switch. Open and click history doesn’t always transfer, so I record baseline metrics before moving.

Why recommend double opt-in if it means fewer subscribers?

Because it confirms the address exists and that the person genuinely wants your emails. That gives you stronger proof of consent and a list with fewer invalid addresses and fewer spam complaints.
